Wow, it's been 10 years since I last reviewed this place. It still has the same magic it did then, same wonderful wine list (shout-out to my local favorite: A. Rafanelli) and awesome service. I went on a Monday night and they were at the end of the service but had no problem delighting me even though my pooch dressed better than yours truly! The outside seating (in back, which has its own bar) was warm and comfortable. I had the patatas bravas, a scallop dish, some yummy buttery bread, and the star of the show, the Bacalao cigarillos. I've only seen bacalao served to me in Spain, and fell in love. Bravas allowed me to fall in love all over again! So tasty, so moist and delicious and perfect with the little wine. Truly the same gem I loved at least 10 years ago. Thank goodness!

We came to this cute little wine country town for the day and lucked into finding Bravas. We were seated right away and all of the staff were very attentive and polite. Our server Brenda was lovely. We ordered several items to share. The only miss was the skirt steak as the meat had a funky flavor. No problem - they took it back and took it off the bill. I actually liked the chorizo here better than some we had in Spain. Definitely a place to try when you are in the area.

Bravas Bar de Tapas in Healdsburg is a culinary gem that brings the vibrant flavors of Spain to the heart of wine country. This charming spot offers a delightful array of traditional and modern tapas-style dishes, each crafted with the utmost care and creativity by James Beard finalists Mark and Terri Stark. So thankful to a male staff member at Chalk Hill Winery who recommended for us to check out this place and also mentioned the other 7 restaurants owned by Stark Reality Restaurant Group. The menu boasts an impressive selection of tapas, it was truly difficult to decide as almost every item on the menu looked really good and the pics on Yelp were drool-worthy. With help from our friendly and knowledgeable male server, we ended up with these small plates: * Octopus a la Plancha with fingerling potatoes, smoked paprika and olives * Pan Oliva - toast with Arbequina olive oil, garlic, sea salt * Crispy Bacalao Cigarillos with marinated olives, lemon zest and romesco aioli * Dungeness Crab Stuffed Piquillo Peppers * Crema Catalana (caramelized orange cinnamon custard) Whether you choose to dine indoors or outdoors at the covered patio, the experience is sure to be memorable. Bravas Bar de Tapas is more than just a restaurant; it's a celebration of Spanish cuisine and culture. If you're a foodie looking to indulge in authentic tapas in Sonoma, this is absolutely the place to be.

Incredible food. We ordered the croquetas since we have two kids, and ended up ordering a 2nd one later because it was so good. The paella was excellent and more than enough for my wife and I. We also liked the potatas bravado. This place gets busy on the weekend so we got there when it opened and were seated not long after though there were already a few people ahead of us. If you're going at a later time then probably best to have reservations.

I ate at Bravas tapas on a Thursday evening. It was beautiful weather and I ate under the covered patio outdoors. Right away, I loved the sweet bungalow that houses this restaurant! It screams California craftsman at you, which for me is perfection. I loved the ambiance. And outdoors is just so cool. They built a bar outside and it works nicely with the house and the two spaces were obviously well planned to be juxtaposed beautifully. It works well and feels hip and traditional at the same time. The food was great! We ordered some shareables and then a paella, which they made without seafood, since that's an issue for me. Thank you, kitchen staff! Best of all, we brought wine with us, and they didn't charge the corkage fee. It was lovely of them! I will return to Bravas and order different foods, not because I didn't like what I had, but because I want to sample more deliciousness!

We were driving around Healdsburg saw the word tapas on their sign and had to check them out. It was a weekday and we walked in when they first opened so weee seated immediately. Food was beyond amazing. So many unique dishes. Several were similar to what we have had at other tapas restaurants but we were able to try new ones. There were 3 of us so able to try several items. Some of our faves... Patatas Bravas- potatoes fried and a tangy tomato, aioli sauce, so good! Bacon Wrapped Dates- with blue cheese pieces and what really added to the dish was the Marcona almonds! Croquetas- fried to perfection with chicken, ham, and Gruyère...a must try! Obviously, since in wine country, they have a great wine list. Service is great. Server took the time to answer questions and explained portion size of dishes. Great decor, beautiful artwork through the restaurant which is like you are in someone's house. We sat inside but there is beautiful backyard seating as well. We loved the place!

We came here for a Saturday dinner while passing through Healdsburg on a Wine Country road trip. We were offered bar seating without a wait, but decided to wait an extra twenty minutes for a table. If you have to wait, there's plenty of places to check out and walk around in the surrounding Healdsburg downtown streets. We sat in the backyard outdoor seating area, which had heat lamps, aesthetic string lights, and that fancy outdoor dining vibe. The menu is a bit overwhelming with such an eclectic selection of Spanish dishes and various tapas -- we finally settled on the Creamy Chicken Croqueta tapas, Roasted Cauliflower tapas, and Paella for two. Creamy Chicken Croqueta tapas (4/5): A few crispy brown balls served in a glass cup. The inside is a heavenly smooth and velvety blend of savory chicken and Gruyère, steaming hot that'll be oozing and goozing all in your mouth. Pretty good, but I felt like it was a bit overpriced for just a few balls. Roasted Cauliflower tapas (3/5): We ordered this one since it's the most popular warm tapas according to our server, but it just wasn't for our tastebuds. The heavily spiced cauliflower clashes with the sweetness of the dates, glazed bacon, and drizzled sauce on top. Too sophisticated of a pairing for me. Paella for two (6/5): Aye dios mio this paella is amazing!! The rice is cooked perfectly, with the bottom layer that touches the pan becoming a crispy pleasure. The Spanish seasonings elicit delicate yet unwavering notes of turmeric and paprika. It comes with four big sea bug shrimps, clams, and chunks of fish, all of which tasted very fresh. The dish is broiled such that the shrimps can be eaten whole with their crunchy shell if you don't want to get your hands dirty peeling! I do wish the variety of seafood was larger, like with adding scallops for example -- there was almost too much fish such that it got repetitive. Our server was also super friendly and patient. What a perfect place to enjoy an amazing weekend dinner!

What a fun atmosphere LOVE the outdoor patio & bar vibe! We tried several tapas and each were very flavorful and unique - the tomato mango dish was my favorite with the colors, textures and flavors popping. Tge broth of the clams was yummy in of itself and the corn had strong presentation & crunch & zest. When we visit again this will be a must visit so we can try the paella.

It's been too long! Four of us recently returned to Bravas on one of the hottest heatwave nights. Outdoor seating was the only option available so we sat at the outdoor bar. Despite the heat, the fun bartending team and service staff kept the water, drinks, and food flowing! We ordered a bunch of delicious savory plates to share including our faves: -pan tomate -kale salad -original BFG fried chicken (a larger portion meant for sharing) with a delicious kale salad and insane garlic toast -roasted beets -croquetas... I kept it simple with a cold glass of local white wine. Our crew also ordered sangria (white and red), a margarita, and another seasonal cocktail. We look forward to more nights on the Bravas patio when it's hopefully a few degrees cooler!
